SoDel Cares, the nonprofit arm of SoDel Concepts, recently donated $2,500 to Read Aloud Delaware, a nonprofit corporation dedicated to promoting reading in Delaware.

Read Aloud Delaware’s 250 volunteers read in more than 41 centers, including Head Start locations, child care centers and elementary schools. In 2016, more than 2,500 children benefited from more than 3,200 reading sessions.

SoDel Cares asked Read Aloud to find donors who would match the $2,500. The nonprofit received matches from the Village Improvement Association and from a fundraiser.

SoDel Cares will hold its third annual fundraiser Nov. 17 at Fish On, 17300 N. Village Main Blvd., Lewes. The evening will feature silent and live auctions. A $25 donation is suggested.
