This is our first blog post in our new series, Let's Talk Wine. Each week we will be featuring a new wine selected by Mike Zygmonski, SoDel Concepts wine director and a certified sommelier through the Court of Master Sommeliers. We will be provide a brief description of each wine, discuss the wine's region, and let you know what it pairs well with and where you can find it! Enjoy!
The 2013 Produttori Barbaresco is from Piedmont, which, along with Tuscany, is one of the best wine regions in Italy. This is also one of the only places in the world where the nebbioli grape grows.
This is a wine that is perfect for the fall and winter and pairs well with any hearty dishes, steak, meatballs, and specifically Lupo's Bolognese. The Produttori Barbaresco is a beautiful expression of the Nebbiolo grape showcasing bright, red cherry and pomegranate as well as hints of dried mushrooms and roses with fine tannins and fresh acidity. It could be described as a dry wine with a bit of a rustic edge. You can find this wine in two SoDel Concepts locations, Lupo Italian Kitchen on Rehoboth Avenue in Hotel Rehoboth, and Bluecoast Rehoboth, which is off of route one in front of the Fresh Market.
